“Housing with HEART” – the resident services program of Jamboree Housing Corporation (JHC) – means many things to many people. Most simply, it means Helping Educate, Activate and Respond Together. But more importantly, for an eight-year-old boy, it means a tutor helping with homework. For a high-school student, it means Internet access, providing a gateway to valuable educational information. For a Hispanic or Asian resident, it means translating a government document into his native language. For an elderly woman, it means explaining Medicare options so she can maximize her benefits.

| For all JHC residents, it is an opportunity to gather with neighbors to discuss issues of mutual concern – from jobs and parenting to holiday celebrations. |

Currently, “Housing with HEART” programs and services are offered at 22 JHC communities with designated staff at 18 locations.
On-site resident coordinators strive for grade improvement, school attendance, number of college-bound youth, school satisfaction and increased self-esteem. At JHC senior communities, daily living services assistance is provided. This includes document translation, assistance in accessing local community food banks, utility assistance and support in finding in-home help that allows them to age “in place” gracefully.
